The MPSCC is excited to announce Kris Inman, a staple of past Missouri conferences, as our Fall 2023 Keynote Speaker!

About Our Keynote

After a 28-year career with Springfield-Greene County (Mo) 9-1-1, including the last three as its director, Kris joined The Healthy Dispatcher in July of 2023 as Director of Program Development. Joining forces with Adam Timm and team, Kris continues to meaningfully advance the 9-1-1 industry, leveraging his experience and passion for education while working with emergency communications centers across the country. Kris has also joined THD’s roster of consultants, applying his decades of 9-1-1 knowledge, experience and advocacy to the company’s Culture Assessment and Organizational Development services. A certified yoga instructor, Kris has led classes for dispatchers of all experience levels across the country. He has also served as an adjunct instructor of Communication and First-Year Foundations at Missouri State University, where he was awarded with a university teaching award in 2022, and at Drury University, where he teaches Communication and Public Service & Safety Leadership. Kris’ wife, Mariah, is an RN Epidemiologist for the Springfield-Greene County Health Department.

Keynote Address: Who We Are

Not many career choices can match 9-1-1 when it comes to degree of difficulty. Sadly, those who find themselves in this field tend to devalue both themselves and the job that they do over time. In this session, we’ll step back and revisit what we’re doing, why we’re doing it and what it all means. We’ll revisit moments that we’ve all experienced and take a new look at what makes this career (and the people who do it) incredibly special. Sometimes, in forgetting what we’ve accomplished as 9-1-1 Telecommunicators, we forget what got us here – the one thing that makes us singularly unique every time we slip on the headset:  Who we are.

More than the Keynote

Kris brings not just the Keynote address with him this fall, but also a break out session entitled Be Who You Needed and guided morning yoga sessions. More information on these additional offerings will be made available as we solidify our schedule matrix and session offerings. We look forward to hearing what Kris has to say this fall in Springfield and we hope to see you then too!
